As I was inspired by my mentors, I cheer to inspire people especially younger generations and make them smile. I moved to Washington D.C. from Tokyo, Japan three and half years ago to be a member of the First Ladies of Football. I left my job and everyone I knew in Japan to follow my heart and passion. This took a lot of motivation and dedication.
Before I moved here, I was so scared. Nothing was certain. There was the darkness and I kept walking toward the light because I believed I could do it. I have no regrets. I’m proud of myself, took the risk, and rose to the challenge. I hope my story helps people to step out of their comfort zone and always challenge themselves.
Now, here I am as a member of the First Ladies of Football and I’m so grateful to have had so many amazing opportunities. Being on the sideline and cheering for the Redskins on game days is very special to me. I have visited U.S. military bases in six countries and was invited as a guest teacher at a Japanese School in Washington D.C. I’m so honored that I’m able to give something back to the community as a part of the First Ladies of Football.
