Leadership Leadership to me means to inspire others and to be a step ahead in guiding others in a positive direction. I take pride in being a strong leader in my community. Growing up as a little girl from Southeast D.C, there weren’t many role models for girls to look up to. I made it my duty to be everything little girls aspire to be: A business owner, community service leader, NFL cheerleader and now pageant title holder. I now currently hold the title of Miss District of Columbia United States 2019 and with this platform, I get to lead my community more than ever. Outside of cheerleading, you can find me making a difference. I enjoy spending my time speaking to high school students and engaging them in my non-profit, which educates youth on the endless possibilities of career paths. I also enjoy giving back to our senior citizens and homeless by volunteering and providing free haircuts and beauty services. I always say to myself, “If I could inspire just one then my job is done.” Receiving letters from little girls from all over has shown me that I’ve accomplished just that. I owe it the leaders of WRC, as they have helped groom me into the woman I am today. I have been pushed, inspired and challenged more than I ever imagined. This organization has opened so many doors for me and has allowed me to pay it forward in more ways than one, and for that I am forever grateful. 61 Swimwear by • D’Milikah
