In the morning, I take a moment to write my daily affirmation and 5 things I’m grateful for. It boosts my mood while giving me time to reflect on myself and others.

Who Inspires Me?

My greatest inspiration is my late great-grandmother, Maria, who was one of the few nurses of color for HIV/Aids patients at a time when they were shunned out of fear of the disease. She saw a need in the community and did what she could to improve the way of life for those infected. Because of her, I am constantly pushed to use my interests and talents to help my community.

She recently passed away after a long battle with Alzheimer’s, but her spirit lives on within my family and I. As a Washington Redskins Cheerleader, I’ve had the opportunity to share her love of helping others through charity events, promotional appearances, and Military Appreciation Tours. Anyone who ever met my grandmother would say that she left a warm and bold, lasting impression. I intend to do the same as a sister, teammate, and businesswoman.
